New Delhi

The ancient city of Delhi in northerly India is modern India’s capital – a huge, sprawling city of chaos and calm that incorporates ancient relics and Mughal tombs, the planned modern city of New Delhi and the jostling streets of Old Delhi. In short, a fascinating bundle of life and history that is at once intoxicating and troubling. Welcome to Delhi…

Old Delhi

Head north of New Delhi to “Old” Delhi and the atmosphere changes from the open grandeur of the former to the congested, bustling streets of the latter. It forms part of the old walled city of Delhi and much of the fortifications and gates of this still exist today.

The Golden Temple

Amritsar is a city in one of the most northerly points of India, not far from the border with Pakistan. Its tight, packed streets teem with people and the daily grind of Indian life (for most). But in the midst of all this lies The Golden Temple – the calm, shining, spiritual home of Sikhism.
